With a bachelor of fine art in visual arts from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in product design from Oslo Metropolitan University, Oslo-based Poppy Lawman (b.1990) builds her practice on explorations of bio-material and slow design. Part sculpture and part utilitarian, her objects and furniture are made to be enjoyed in and out of use, balancing art and design for a slower, more connective way of living. She was named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by the Bo Bedre Design Awards in Norway in 2019, nominated by Dezeen for ‘Emerging Designer of the Year’ in 2020.

2017-2019 Masters in Product Design (Aesthetics and Materiality). Oslo Metropolitan University, Oslo, Norway.

2009-2013 Bachelor of Fine Art in Visual Arts (Sculpture) + Minor in Art History. Azusa Pacific University, California, United States.
